Personal Zeitgeist: January 2026 Playlist Updates

Each month, we update our Personal Zeitgeist playlist for maximum freshness, and this month is no exception! (Scroll down to subscribe on your favorite streaming service.)

Kicking off 2026, we have curated a wide-ranging, genre-bending, no-repeat collection of artists from around the world. There are many tracks/artists featured here that we are excited about, including:

  • Noga Erez's "Bubbling," which was co-written by our friend Justin Tranter, is another notch on the belt for an exciting artist on the rise. We're still obsessed with her Succulent Sessions performance from a few years back.
  • David Sitek's continued work with Angélica Garcia is excellent, as evidenced by their recent track, "Butterfly."
  • We are really hoping to catch MEMORIALS live at some point this year. Electrelane, Verity Susman's former band, is a long-time favorite of ours!
  • We haven't put down Portugal. The Man's latest album, Shish, since its release last November.
  • Father John Misty continues to release great music. It's hard to tell if "The Old Law" is a Mahashmashana b-side or if it is a signal of further music to be released in 2026 (one can hope). Either way, we're in.
  • Sault has already dropped a best-album contender in the early weeks of 2026.
  • Tyler Ballgame is an artist to watch in 2026. For The Last Time, Again is shaping up to be a beast of an album, and we have heard incredible things about his live show.
  • This month's list contains a bunch of artists from Noise Conservation's 2025 concert recap, including Father John Misty, Die Spitz, Greet Death, Greg Freeman, Magdalena Bay, and BRONCHO (we unfortunately had to miss Viagra Boys due to illness).
  • Also included are several artists we already have on our 2026 concert calendar, like Say She She, Automatic, Ratboys, Freak Slug, The Last Dinner Party, Magdalena Bay, Father John Misty, and Die Spitz.
