While March was light in the concert department, it continued 2026's celebration of legendary artists! Here's a recap of this incredible college town booking:
True/False Film Festival: ESG w/ Soumir & Peace Lily
@ The Blue Note — Columbia, MO — March 6, 2026

When I first discovered that ESG was playing Columbia, MO — a small mid-Missouri college town that is home to the University of Missouri — I texted my friend Jim. His immediate response was, "I've never seen them, nor did I ever think I would get a chance. Absolutely wild what True/False manages to snag!"
ESG are one of those all-time influences for me that I never imagined I would get to see live and I can't believe it was just a few hours from my house. Many people I know from the St. Louis music scene made the trip down to see this momentous occasion.
I wasn't sure what to expect, especially given the band having been active since 1978, but we were treated to a high-energy rendition of ESG's classic catalog from Renee Scroggins and her children. They had the entire room dancing and Renee's vocals were album-perfect. What a treat and an excellent cross off of the bucket list.
St. Louis artist Soumir provided support and threw herself into a well-received set. I can't say that it was for me, but I admire her vision and dedication to the craft. She is building a loyal area following and I look forward to seeing her growth. Peace Lily provided the DJ with live vocals party to open and close the night. Their global deep cuts filled the room with grooves. Definitely a highlight of the night!
